Who and Why.

Steve and Gemma founded SRG Financial in early 2024 with a mission to elevate the home lending experience. As finance and compliance grow increasingly complex, we recognized that the client experience was often overlooked. SRG was built on the principle that it’s more than just a transaction—it’s about being the trusted partner you can call when you have an idea and need guidance to bring it to life. From our new office at Level 1, 18 Rooke Street, Devonport, we provide a high-end level of customer service, delivering carefully considered, well-thought-out lending advice and strategy tailored to your goals.

Our original name, SRG (Steven, Rowie, Gemma), was a daily reminder of our family values and commitment to serving you for the right reasons. We’ve strengthened our team with the addition of James Leslie, a partner with 20 years of experience as a property agent now turned finance broker, bringing invaluable expertise to help you navigate property investments. We love going the extra mile and we’re here to ensure clarity, confidence, and success every step of the way.

Now, we’ve evolved into Huddle Finance, a name that reflects our dedication to teamwork, growth, and exceptional service. With an expanded team, enhanced resources, and the same passion that defined SRG, Huddle Finance is ready to support you whenever you need us. Thank you for being part of our journey—we’re excited to huddle up and help you fund your ambitions with unmatched care and expertise.

Meet the Team

At Huddle, our team embodies a collective passion for excellence and a steadfast commitment to our clients' financial success. Led by our co-founders, Steven and Gemma Flint, our diverse team of seasoned professionals brings together a wealth of expertise across various facets of the financial landscape.

  • Director / Broker

Steve is a Co-Founder of Huddle, husband to Gemma, and dad to two small humans who run the show at home. He entered the finance industry at the ripe age of 23, previously working in Real Estate for 5 years. With over 11 years of experience in the industry, Steve has established himself as one of the more experienced Finance Brokers in his area. Steve has assisted a wide range of clients, from first home buyers to seasoned property investors, professionals, and business clients. He particularly enjoys working with clients who have complex and technical profiles that may otherwise struggle to obtain funding from other lenders or advisors.

His philosophy centres around building long-term relationships with his clients while also providing a high-end level of service, ensuring no stone is left unturned. With firsthand experience in personally purchasing property, Steve and his wife Gem have ventured into the construction path, purchasing and fully renovating a 100-year-old house, investing in properties, and dabbling in property development. Steve leverages these experiences to provide his clients with more in-depth knowledge than most others.

Steve holds a Diploma in Finance Mortgage Brokering and also a Diploma in Property Services (Real Estate).

“I’ve been in finance for over 12 years, and still get a kick out of helping people buy their dream home, investment property or grow their business. I love a sharp strategy, a strong caffeine hit, and the idea that one day Carlton might actually win a premiership (unlikely, but a man can dream). Huddle was born out of a vision to do business differently—more human, more personal, and more focused on people than paperwork. That’s what we’re going for, one deal at a time”.

Steven Flint Australian Credit Representative number 434775.

  • Co-founder

Gemma is the co-founder with her husband Steve and plays a pivotal role in the running of Huddle. With over 15 years of administrative experience, it was a natural progression to collaborate and create Huddle. From taking care of HR, brand and image direction, administration management, and back-end support, Gemma has the ability to leave a lasting impression. Her heart of pure gold, coupled with an eagerness to help and support, ensures that the service offered at Huddle is second to none. Her impeccable eye for detail and drive for customer satisfaction further enhance the quality of service provided.

  • Operations / Broker

In 2019 with a dozen years already in real estate James created the boutique real estate brand Hudson365 in the North West of Tasmania. With success larger than expected in such a short space of time, that innovative business was acquired October 2023 in a merger with industry giant Knight Frank Tasmania.

“After 2 years of seeing that transition through, it was obvious that ‘big business’ just didn’t suit my model of more personalised communication and client-focussed solutions. I needed to get back to feeling invested in people taking a step forward and there was no better way to do that than coming into an environment with not just one of the best operators in the finance industry, but also one of the best humans I know. Steven and I have been mates almost 20 years and I consider him family, so to be able to partner with him and Gemma in Huddle is genuinely exciting. We aren’t here to do things the same way they always have been. There’s a chance to change the way people view the finance industry and we intend on making a big impact in every single deal we are a part of”.

With a Diploma in Property Services to compliment his qualification in Finance & Mortgage Broking, James has a plan to help clients through his intimate knowledge of the real estate industry to help set them up on their wealth pathway through making great choices. In his spare time, he loves watching basketball whilst sharing a good pepperoni pizza (with Jalapenos) with the family.

  • Broker Support Specialist

Jaime help keep things running smoothly behind the scenes at Huddle Finance.

With a passion for making finance feel personal and stress-free, Jaime is dedicated to supporting both our team and our clients every step of the way – Which is why Jaime is building the foundation for the next step in my career: becoming a broker, so she can help people achieve their property goals with even more hands-on guidance.

“Outside all of that, you’ll probably find me at the beach with my dog, hitting the gym, or enjoying great food and a cheeky glass of wine with friends – life’s all about those little moments!”

Huddle Culture.

Family is important to us and was the driving force behind what we valued most. Being the transactional type of broker who only wants to do the deal and never hear from your advisor again didn’t sit well with us. We didn’t want to be a business whose sole focus is profit margins and neglects our staff with their personal goals and careers.

Having genuine care for our staff and customers—treating them as part of our family—was the blueprint for how we wanted to conduct ourselves in business. We want people to feel inspired when dealing with us. We want them to know they have someone in their corner from day one and are here for the long haul, right beside them every step of the way. So, when a client or staff member becomes a part of Huddle, you become family, and we look after our family.
